How much of a new iPhone your old one covers, by country

Apple's trade-in credit for an iPhone 16 Pro covers 55.5% of a new iPhone 18 Pro in Malaysia, but only 34.6% in India (Apple Trade In and Apple Store prices, 25 Sept 2026).

The table shows Apple Trade In's "up to" credit for each model as a percentage of the cheapest iPhone 18 Pro in the same country. Using a percentage removes currency differences, so countries can be compared directly.

Why the share differs

Apple sets trade-in values and iPhone prices separately in each country, and new-iPhone prices include local taxes. A high share means Apple's credit goes further toward an upgrade there. Apple's figure is a maximum for a phone in good condition; local shops can pay more or less, as the country pages show.
